To say that it has been the toughest 3 months of my life would be the understatement of the year. In the past season I have experienced uncertainty with my job and separation from my husband. As a 29 year old, these are the 2 primary focuses of my life and I kind of failed at both of them. Hopefully things are on the up with the job (hence the term "uncertainty") and at some point I will get back on the marriage horse. Anyhow, I digress.
While I have experienced a bit of negativity, there are some pretty positive things in my life. I have amazing friends, a great family, and I have fallen back in love with running. I am still a happy girl. I am really trying to focus on the positive right now. Yesterday I was reading a magazine and came across an article about a man who was going through something very similar to me (sucky marriage and sucky job) and decided to put a positive twist on it. Rather in sulking in his misery, he decided to write a thank you card every day for 365 to someone who he is grateful for. This is brilliant and really inspired me. While his thank yous ended up being published in a book, I just want to show the people in my life how much I appreciate them. Today, November 10th, starts my "thank you" project. I have incredible gratitude for the amazing people in my life. If you are reading this blog post, let me go ahead and thank you for being part of my life, and don't be surprised if I put my thankfulness on paper.
